Hi everybody! Summer has begun and what fun we have already had! Barry set up a couple of our blow-up pools in the backyard and we arranged them so that the climbing set slides (set from Shellie) went into the two pools. Terry was having a blast and didn't want to get out of the water. Two of the neighbor kids came over, Katelyn (7) and Jake (8), and they played with Gavin and Terry both in and out of the pools. Then Barry and I had a one-day pass on Friday for a local gym that has not one, not two, but three pools and a hot tub. There is a designated lap pool, a fun pool 3ft to 5 ft deep, and a wading pool leading off of a water park with the "beach" entrance -- just a shallow slope into the water. Wow, was that great! We spent two and half hours there since it was about four when we got there.
We planned a June adventure through Nevada to Idaho to Montana and the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, then on to the Black Hills of South Dakota, but it will just have to wait as there is entirely too much snow/flooding/etc. to make it much of a summer camping trip. We will try again after Brian, Sarah, and Aslynn visit in early July.
Congrats to Shellie - way to go and you look great!!! You have inspired me to at least do some exercising...I am trying to run about 8 to 10 miles a week. I bought some of those funny shoes with the unusual soles, and I feel like I am running on a treadmill even when I am on pavement. It's wonderful. My knees never bother me, which I think they would on hard surfaces in regular gym shoes.....
Barry and I are enjoying the beautiful weekend up in Nevada City. We will walk down to town later this evening and listen to some live music at Friar Tuck's and maybe elsewhere! We've got our whole cedar grove cleaned up and fire safe, but the grassy meadow is growing like mad and it is hard to keep up with it! That's okay!
All for now.....
