Turkey Day in Rocklin

We spent Wednesday preparing for today and Mom came down to Rocklin to help. Barry baked not one but two pies, an apple and a cherry, and I bought various ingredients for side dishes. Mom made home-made noodles especially for Rich, and Barry brought home real whipping cream just for Chris! We had lots of goodies like chocolate raspberry sticks, sunkist fruit gems, feta-stuffed olives, blue cheese-stuffed olives, and artichoke heart with spinach dip...along with some healthy fare like Newcastle Mandarin Oranges, bananas, baby carrots, and celery. (The fancy stuff was compliments of a San Rafael roommate, Brian, who works for Mezzetta!)

Jeff and Shellie arrived first before 10:30 am! Wow! That was so great to have them here so early after an 150-mile drive! She got things arranged for the mashed potatoes and then helped me get things organized for the stuffing and getting the bird into the oven.

Rich and Chris arrived around 12/12:30 and brought some lovely EO Hand Soap in the Holiday Spice flavor. It is an organic, sweet orange essential oil and I can't wait to try it! Yum!

Soon we had a Progressive Rummy card game going. Rich started out by creaming all of us immediately as he went out on his first hand and gained 150 points while we all went into the negative - ouch! He even called nephew Greg to brag about it...

Then Andy and Alex arrived and we started a new card game and didn't give Rich his great points from the first game...and Chris trounced us royally in that game.

Definately a very fun time!
